INITIAL ASSESSMENT & FOLLOW UP APPOINTMENTS
Clients are seen for an initial appointment of 45 minutes for all new conditions. If you have seen us before but have a new injury we will book you in for an initial appointment.
This extended time allows us to thoroughly assess and provide you with the best treatment for your injury. We will also book further appointments in this time.
Follow up appointments are scheduled for 30 minutes to review your progress and provide exercises and treatment as necessary. We feel it is important to give you the attention you deserve in that time.

ORTHOSES, BRACES, AIDES & STRENGTHENING
Hand Therapists are experienced in fabricating custom made orthoses (splints) to allow you to rest your arm in the optimal position using light weight thermoplastic material. We also have a supply of prefabricated braces that may be an option depending on your injury. At times the Therapist may also recommend strengthening devices and aides to help get back to normal function.
These are an additional cost to the appointment and you may be able to claim these through your Private Health Insurance following the appointment. We will inform you of the price before you commit to the additional products so you do not get a surprise when it’s time to pay.

HOME VISITS
For clients who are unable to attend the clinic, such as those in a nursing home or with limited mobility, we may be able to offer home visit appointments.
PRIVATE CLIENTS
If you are seeing us as a Private client, you do not need a medical referral. Payment is required on the day of the appointment and we can complete on the spot Private Health Insurance Claims with your card through the HICAPS machine. Your level of cover will determine whether you are able to claim and the amount of the rebate. Our current therapists are Occupational Therapists and you can contact your Health Insurer to find out if you are covered using the item code 100. The gap payment can be completed with Cash, EFTPOS or Visa/Mastercard.

CHRONIC DISEASE MANAGEMENT (MEDICARE) CLIENTS
Some clients who have a chronic medical condition MAY be eligible for Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan. The CDM Plan enables you to access a Medicare rebate for 5 Allied Health appointments per Calendar year. This is assessed and organised through your GP and this plan is required at your initial appointment to complete the Medicare Rebate.
Bulk billing is done on your behalf for the appointment and there is a gap fee as listed below. This is to help cover the cost of the appointment. Splints and aides may be required at an additional cost. This will be discussed with you during your appointment.

WORKSAFE AND TAC CLIENTS
We are more than happy to treat clients with a current WorkSafe or TAC claim. If you have a current claim, you will require a referral from a medical practitioner and your claim number at the initial appointment. Please bring all employment, injury date, claim number and insurance details to your first appointment so we can follow up your accounts through the appropriate funding agency. If you don’t have these details, you will be required to pay the full private cost until we can confirm your claim.
VETERAN’S AFFAIRS (DVA)
Patients with a Gold Card will have no out of pocket expenses. Please bring your card so we can complete the claim for you.
